The « Villa Engel » located in 40 Boulevard Grande Duchesse Charlotte in the Ville Haute district of Luxembourg city, is a 280m² magnificent XIXth century host house. It has been entirely renovated and transformed into office space, following the « design & build » process.
We conducted a study of needs with our client and adapted the space-planning, the interior fit-out and the implementation of the project according to the results.
Our goal for this project was on the one hand to keep as much as possible what was already there in order to keep the essence of this somptuous house. On the other hand, the challenge was to combine it with a modern and functional style to fit a contemporary office.
We entirely redid the electrical system, repaired the roof, the existing flooring as well as the staircase, put a new flooring when the old one was too damaged to rehabilitate, put wallpaper and paint on the walls, redid the windows and installed blinds. Our team of architects also selected the furniture, working with quality brands, such as Sedus, Bene, Vitra and Fantoni and offering made-to-measure carpentry. We worked with light colors in order to give a bright aspect to the space.
We created a kitchen, a reception living room and library, a meeting room, four individual offices, a versatile room, a waiting room, and a 4 person open-space.
Regarding the outside of the villa, we redid the facade, as well as the ironwork, which include the fence, the gates, the barrier, the conservatory and the canopy. Our architects worked on this project for nearly 8 months..
